While the course catalog shows all programs currently on offer at Mason, it lacks the sort of marketability a dedicated page can provide.

Academic program pages let you make a centralized promotional page that can be called upon from any SiteMasonry site connected to Content Hub. This is particularly handy as news stories frequently mention academic programs tied to people or events going on.

If we mention a specific academic program, we want to make sure potential students can learn more about the program without having to think on where to get more information. Capture their attention at the point of contact!

Before You Start

It's important that only one page exists per academic program. So, step one of making an academic program page is to first search Content Hub for the program in question. Make sure you check for variations or old names of the program to ensure everything stays up to date.

In situations such as duplicated pages or needing a page deleted, please file a ticket! The OUB team can help ensure no connected content is negatively impacted during the process.

Planning Your Program Page

When preparing to make your Academic Program page, you'll want to consider the following:

  • How you can best describe the program
  • What opportunities are available related to the program
  • A short, social media ready summary of the program info
  • Has anyone in the program
  • How people can contact the program regarding admissions
  • What images best showcase your program

Making Your Program Page

Program pages are created within Content Hub. Making an academic program page involves elements learned from making news articles and making landing pages. This is because, while it uses fielded content like news articles and profile pages, an academic profile page relies heavily on editing the layout of the page while involving the fielded content. Fielded content is important for social media and SEO ranking, but will not provide visual engagement or a complete marketing strategy.
