The Web Docs repository stores digitally accessible, purpose-specific documents available for public download from George Mason University websites.

What Belongs in Web Docs?

Most content should be published as a webpage. When content is placed in a document, it becomes harder for people with disabilities to access, lowers search engine visibility, and makes it more difficult to monitor for federal Section 508 and ADA compliance.

Web Managers should upload or manage a document in Web Docs only if it meets all of the following criteria:

 

  • Cannot be easily converted into standard web content. 
     
  • Is essential to official university communication and must retain original formatting (e.g., a printable form, policy, or report). 
     
  • Does not collect or transmit sensitive or privileged information. 
     
  • Meets WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.

  • Connect to the George Mason VPN
     
  • Go to webdocs.gmu.edu
     
  • Log in using your George Mason email and password
