News Stories are one of three content types that can be shared to other sites on the SiteMasonry CMS platform.
Because News Stories may appear on multiple sites, each story should be written with clarity, accuracy, and strong structure. Content published in Content Central may represent more than a single office, department, or program and should reflect the quality expected across the platform.
Preparing News Story Content
Before building News Story in Content Central, create or gather:
- a headline that captures the reader’s attention
- a square thumbnail image that will be good for social media
- a one-to-two sentence summary of your article for social media
- an edited, proofread, and unformatted article
Elements of a Strong News Story
In addition to required materials, the following elements strengthen structure, readability, and impact:
- A compelling introductory paragraph that highlights the central point
- Section headings that organize the article into clear, readable segments
- One or two relevant images embedded within the article body
- A key quote or notable fact that reinforces the main message
