Troubleshooting: Page Edits Won't Save

Multiple drafts in a page's version history may block edits and generate an on-screen error message. Removing drafts from the revision history typically resolves the problem.

Steps to resolve

• Open the page and select the Revisions tab.
   
• Review the revision list for more than one Draft.
   
• Delete the past draft revisions, keeping only the published revision. To avoid making outdated content publicly available, do not Publish on an unfamiliar draft.
   
• Log out. Clear your browser cache.
   
• Log back in. To confirm the issue resolved, attempt to edit the page again.
   

How to avoid this issue

• Only one draft version per page at a time.
   
• Publish or delete existing page draft versions before starting a new round of edits.
