Web Managers are responsible for training content editors to create and maintain content in accordance with OUB Web Team guidance and federal, Commonwealth of Virginia, and George Mason University policies, standards, and guidelines for websites and web content, digital accessibility, data use, system security, and the university brand.
Content editor candidates must complete following before their account is issued:
- Take the George Mason Brand Training. This self-guided training takes less than 30 minutes to complete.
- Review the University Web Content Standards. These standards cover accessibility, document, image, and video guidelines.
- Explore the Component Catalog. Review available page components and see examples of News Story, Profile, and Program content items.
- Understand Web Accessibility Standards. Know how to format content to meet WCAG 2.1 standards.
- Install ANDI. Recommended by ATI, the ANDI browser extension helps verify that content meets web accessibility standards.
